Back ground

Bodmando’s Evaluation Unit is seeking to recruit a research and evaluation officer to support the team in conducting evaluations across the thematic areas of focus. The research and evaluation officer will also manage teams of independent evaluation consultants to quality assure deliverables and shall also participate in business development activities.

The Research and Evaluation Officer’s Responsibilities shall include:

• Manage teams of independent evaluation consultants to ensure assignments are completed within time and quality expectations.

• Support the training of data collectors in correct interpretation of research tools, Bodmando’s safeguarding policies and ethical code of conduct.

• Supervise field enumerators during data collection through activities such as back checks, high frequency checks or spot checks.

• Carry out data quality assurance to ensure accurate, reliable and valid data is available for analysis.

• Participate in periodic meetings to provide updates to clients on the progress of research and evaluation assignments.

• Organize and take part in conducting of interviews, focus group discussions, or stakeholder consultation meetings amongst others.

• Support the drafting of inception reports, final evaluation reports and other deliverables.

• Participate in business development activities through writing of technical and financial proposals.

• Carry out any other duties as shall be assigned by the Global Programmes manager.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in a relevant field such as

Monitoring and Evaluation, Project planning and management, Social Sciences, Gender, Economics, Public Health and/or Development studies. A Master’s Degree is a MUST

Knowledge and experience

• At least 5 years of experience in leading and conducting development evaluations

• Experience in using the Theory of change approach in evaluations.

• Strong workshop management skills

• Well-developed cross-cultural skills

• Stakeholder and team management skills

• Excellent report writing, communication and interviewing skills

• Effective prioritization and organizational skills with an ability to work under tight deadlines.

• Service oriented and of good team spirit

Other requirements

• Fluency in English
