Blue Ventures Marine Spatial Data Analyst Jobs in Kenya; We are recruiting a Marine Spatial Data Analyst to provide technical stewardship of Blue Ventures’ spatial data system, ensuring delivery of high‑quality spatial data, dashboards, and decision‑support tools that support community‑based fisheries management. The role combines spatial data management, database administration, data visualisation, and user engagement, while supporting marine spatial planning analyses and user‑centred decision‑support tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and improve Blue Ventures’ spatial data infrastructure.

  • Ensure reliability, documentation, and responsiveness of spatial data systems.

  • Support marine spatial planning analyses and decision‑support tools.

  • Collaborate with Head of Spatial Ecology, Ecological Data Scientist, and Data Science team.

  • Provide user engagement and technical support for programme teams.

  • Contribute to development of dashboards and visualisation tools.

    Qualifications

  • Strong background in spatial data management and analysis.

  • Experience in database administration and GIS tools.

  • Excellent problem‑solving skills.

  • Passion for using data to support community‑led conservation.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small, distributed team.

  • Experience coordinating across regions and cultures.

  • Flexibility, openness, and adaptability to diverse working styles.

    Conditions

  • Full‑time remote role.

  • Occasional international travel to collaborate with colleagues, partners, and communities.

  • Reporting to Head of Spatial Ecology.
