Introduction

  • The Bible Society of Kenya is a non-sectarian, non-denominational organization that serves all Christian Churches, Church based Organizations and Christian individuals by providing them with the Word of God. Our mandate is to share the Good News of Jesus Christ by translating, producing, distributing and encouraging the use of Holy Scriptures.

    Responsibilities

  • Develop the strategic direction (strategic imperatives and annual action plans) for BSK programmes to achieve BSK mandate and mission.
  • Ensure that the society’s translation projects are run in an effective manner, utilizing appropriate ICT (technology) and effective project management strategies to achieve the society’s translation goals.
  • Oversee and direct the publishing programmes of BSK ensuring high quality, relevant and effective scripture products are developed.
  • Ensuring that BSK receives competitive pricing for Scripture products.
  • Manage relations with Bible publishing and production partners to ensure BSK goals and customer needs are met.
  • Effectively manage the supply chain processes for Bible publishing and production to ensure market requirements for Scripture products is met.
  • Ensure that all projects that the society develops and embarks on are relevant and effective in addressing community bible engagement needs within the mandate, mission and vision of BSK.
  • Contribute to resource mobilization programmes for BSK programmes locally and internationally through proposal writing and partnership development, individual appeals, church relations and events to ensure BSK is able to deliver on her mandate.
  • Ensure commitments to institutional donors for programmes such as budgets, action plans, outcomes and impact are met to sustain and grow partnerships.
  • Oversee research and impact measurement to inform effective implementation of BSK programmes.
  • Contribute to monitoring and evaluation of BSK projects for measurement of impact
  • Report to the Board and programme partners providing information on programme outcomes, trends and impact of BSK programmes to facilitate effective board participation.
  • Mentor and coach staff within the division to ensure they grow and serve the society effectively.
  • Manage performance of staff within the division.
  • Advise on necessary assets acquisitions for the operations division (vehicles, computers, etc.).
  • Cascade the Society’s annual goals and objectives to team members through the balanced score card, carrying out periodic performance reviews.

  • A Master’s Degree in Business Administration or related field.
  • At least 8 years previous work experience of which 4 should be in a senior management position.

    Bible Society of Kenya Sales Manager Vacancies

    Responsibilities

  • Design appropriate sales strategies for the Society.
  • Draw up comprehensive work plans for implementing the sales strategies.
  • Oversee effective market research based on the Society’s products and possible changing characteristic of the market.
  • Monitor competitor activities through gathering of marketing intelligent information and counter accordingly.
  • Collate competitor product and service information and define the Society’s performance through analyses of the regional market share.
  • Analyze product uptake performance and integrate information through analyses and enrichment of raw data in order to provide regular customer feedback, customer satisfaction score and product awareness.
  • Advise the society on the needed scriptures as per customer and market demand.
  • Spearhead sales campaigns of new and existing products aimed at effective brand promotion and BSK image building in the marketplace.
  • Ensure sales activities are done in compliance with the laid down policies and procedures of the Society.
  • Ensure that customers receive
    supplies of products on time, in full.
  • Ensure that customers are invoiced in a timely manner and ensure collection of payments in full.
  • Ensure all collected payments are receipted and banked.
  • Work closely with the warehouse team to ensure that warehouse stock levels are maintained for continuous availability of Bibles.
  • Constantly interact with members, churches, outlets and the general public in order to proactively feed the insights into the business to
  • support product management and development, sales, and service offerings.
  • Compile and submit weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual report to Management and Board.
  • In liaison with the Head of Operations, ensure that the correct quantity, quality, format, size, colour and type of scriptures required by the organisation are sourced and procured.
  • Ensure timely distribution of all BSK products through development of the most appropriate distribution channels.
  • Monitor and manage distribution expenses.

    Qualifications

  • A Degree in Sales/ Marketing/Business Management or related field.
  • At least 6 years working experience in sales of which 2 must be at management level.
  • A valid driving license.

    Responsibilities

  • Collect competitor product and service information and define the Society’s competitive advantage through analyses of market share.
  • Spearhead marketing campaigns aimed at making known the Society’s products and enhancing its image.
  • Constantly undertake brand and image building of the BSK.
  • Periodically review marketing and communication and brand standards guidelines to ensure uniform adoption of the brand.
  • Systematically monitor formal and informal broadcasts, print and social media for BSK coverage.
  • Manage BSK’s communications externally through different forums.
  • Manage media relations and coverage for increased brand visibility.
  • Guide on event planning for all BSK events to ensure good customer experience and communication of BSK key messages.
  • Plan and implement promotional campaigns.
  • Continually guide and oversee the review of the BSK’S product offering to ensure they remain relevant.
