Job Description

  • Beza posterity development organization /BPDO/ is an indigenous, non-profit making, non-governmental humanitarian organization working on three programmatic interventions like Health, Socio economic, capacity building and Advocacy programs in four regional states of the country.

  • Currently BPDO has entered a project agreement with USAID to implement HIV Prevention, Testing and Treatment Services for Key Populations activities in all woredas of Amhara region.

  • As per this BPDO wants to recruit interested applicants who fulfilled the minimum requirements as an employee.

    Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize and lead primary HIV prevention services for Key Populations in the targeted SNUs of Amhara region,

  • Provide technical guidance and oversight in the design, implementation, and evaluation of HIV/STI prevention and behavior change communication interventions and HIV services to Key Populations

  • Lead community level key and priority populations size estimation, and dynamic microplanning process

  • Plan and monitor quality of small group and one to one sessions which are designed to bring behavioral change amongst KP/PP as well as track design, cascade and implementation of risk assessment tools

  • Assist the overall planning and implementation of HIV case identification through ICT/PNS, social network and targeted outreach testing

  • Design tools and strategies which promotes healthy behavior and long-lasting behavior change among KP/PP,

  • Provide mentorship and coaching to community level providers in ensuring a KP friendly services

  • Conduct service mapping to identify potential service providers and prepare service directory to refer clients based on their need, demand and convenient time,

  • Facilitate budget to cascade small group session at establishment, work place and other community settings and follow the implementation as per the SOP,

  • Provide tailored trainings to site level staff to ensure the delivery of a comprehensive and integrated HIV/STI/FP
    services,

  • Ensure the technical capacity of local implementing partners is strengthened to implement HIV/STI prevention and behavior change communication activities,

  • Review and analyze site level performance data, document and disseminate lesson learned and best,

  • Ensure the technical capacity of local implementing partners is strengthened to implement HIV/STI prevention and behavior change communication interventions,

  • Support the local implementing partners in identifying new hotspots for outreach services,

  • Provide technical assistance to private health facilities network at least once in a week for the towns her/him is assigned to follow up,

  • Distribute & ensure the availability of necessary health commodities including; condom, lubricant, STI kit, job aids,

  • In collaboration with the clinical team design better strategies to intensify HIV new case finding and ensuring linkage of HIV positives for care and treatment,

  • Submit high quality periodic reports regarding to primary HIV prevention activities that performed in all intervention sites,

  • Perform other duties assigned by immediate supervisor

    Job Requirements

    Qualification, experiences, Essential Skills and Abilities

  • Bachelor degree in public health, nursing or social sciences with 10 years’ of direct experience in HIV prevention program

  • PEPFAR experience is preferable

  • Experience of working with key populations and PLHIVs

  • Experience in developing detailed implementation plan of activities

  • Having a track record of supporting the development of innovative HIV service delivery strategies targeting hard-to-reach Key and priority populations

  • Well versed with social behavioral models applicable to HIV programming

  • Experience in qualitative data collection among key and priority populations
