Job Description

Beza posterity development organization /BPDO/ is an indigenous, non-profit making, non-governmental humanitarian organization working on sexual reproductive health, HIV AIDS and STIs prevention, care and support, improving the socio-economic wellbeing of women and girls, environmental protection, youth leadership and employment.

BPDO has entered a project agreement with USAID to implement activities entitled Community based HIV Prevention care and treatment in the selected Woredas of Amhara and Addis Abab regional states with major focus on test and treat and community ART service.

BPDO wants to recruit interested applicants who fulfill the minimum requirements as an employee

  • Duration of employment: one year with possibility of extension

    Qualification and work experience:

  • Plan, organize and coordinate community based HIV prevention, care and treatment activity in all intervention sub cities of BPDO in Addis Ababa city administration,

  • Plan and monitor the implementation of community based HIV intervention to bring high quality program outcomes,

  • Design tools and strategies which brings better health outcomes and ensures adherence to treatment and retention in care,

  • Ensure collaboration and coordination with regional health bureaus, zonal health department, district health offices, PLHIV association, Iddir, CCC and site-level health extension workers to address the continuum of partner notification - referral for HIV testing and HIV self-testing and interventions to improve client tracing, loss to follow-up interventions and leverage local resources,

  • Provide on spot technical back up for frontline workers, SHGs, VSLA and CBOs to have capacity to perform high quality project results,

  • Conduct technical and institutional capacity assessment
    for CBOs and develop plan of action based on findings to enhance their capacity in HIV epidemic control and to have skill and knowledge on local resource mobilization,

  • In collaboration with the clinical team design better strategies to intensify HIV new case finding and ensuring linkage of HIV positives for care and treatment,

  • Integrate gender issues as essential component in the whole project cycle management and give significant attention for GBV prevention and care through referral linkage,

  • Ensure youth engagement in HIV epidemic control and align to USAID Youth in Development policy,

  • Ensure proper budget utilization and adhere to organizational financial policy and donor compliance requirements,

  • Submit high quality periodic reports including success stories that demonstrates the successful implementation of community based HIV prevention, care and treatment activity,

  • Represent the organization in meetings, workshops, GO-NGO forums and other events as needed.

    Job Requirements

    Qualification, experiences, Essential Skills and Abilities

  • BA/BSc or MA/MSc in sociology, management, development studies, public health and related fields

  • A minimum of 06 years for MA/MSc and 08 years related work experience for BA/BSc

  • NGO experience is preferable

  • Experience of working with community preferably with USAID HIV prevention project at community level

  • Experience in developing detailed implementation plan of activities

  • Good understanding on project cycle management

  • Proven experience in coaching and mentoring in HIV/AIDS projects

  • Good interpersonal communication

  • Demonstrated analytical and report writing skills
