  • Responsible for identifying growth opportunities, develop plans to exploit these opportunities and maximize potential to increase profitability of the BHS
    Leads the Marketing & Customer Service team, Member of the Senior management

    Responsible for:

  • Marketing, Information Management Activities and integration of the Organizational Services

    Overall Purpose

  • Marketing Manager is a senior management position in the BHS’s organizational structure.
    This position supports the general manager of the BHS business development, marketing, customer service and the overall goals of the position are to:

  • Building on the current strength and stability of BHS through proper management and oversight;

  • proactively lead the organization in a challenging, competitive and more regulated environment to meet shorter, medium and long term plans;

  • Directing efforts toward making BHS the safest health care facility in Ethiopia by leading high-quality, service-oriented, safe patient care throughout its service components.

  • Establishing a culture of open communication, accountability, and timely decision making.

  • Supporting planning and development of capacity expansion projects and guide the development of services for new facilities; and
    Creating an environment of continuous improvement that fosters physician and staff collaboration, enhance revenues, and improves overall performance.


  • Lead and ensure that BHS sells its services and develop marketing strategies. Develop plans to increase its market penetration and coverage.

  • Leads and monitor market research and competitor analysis, draw conclusion from this, suggest changes and improvements and review activities to feed into forward planning.

  • Direct and prioritize marketing activities for the healthcare practice to keep abreast with the changing market dynamics to position BHS as a leader in the target market segments.

  • Develop and execute, when approved, integrated marketing programs reinforcing BHS’s brand and messaging to create awareness, loyalty and drive client connection opportunities through various sources including: web, newsletters,
    multimedia/video, events advertising, conference participation, etc.

  • Be responsible for developing new business opportunities by researching and developing business relationships, generating and negotiating new income in line with the BHS’s service development strategy; liaising potential new customers; writing business cases; responding to tenders and requests for information, preparing draft contracts.

  • Continual review and reporting of market and financial data reflecting the opportunities for growth of BHS. Proactively communication challenge and issues.

  • Direct the development and maintenance of market intelligence database, including ongoing communication of specific opportunities or threats to BHS.

  • Ensures that mechanisms are in to keep track of customer’s satisfaction and long term retention.

    Planning and monitoring

  • The position holder shall be responsible to set clear goals and measurable outcomes and device the Business Development Strategy and Marketing plan, maximizing the market for the services of the BHS.

  • Plans, directs, and coordinates standard of the core activity; and formulates current and long-range programs.

  • Develop new and refine existing analytical techniques and resources to enable effective business planning, including market forecasting, competitive intelligence and financial analysis.

  • Perform periodic performance reviews and maintain compliance with BHS’s performance management policies and procedures.

  • Perform other related duties as directed by the Managing Director.

    Job Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree or master degree in business, marketing, communications, or related field with six (6) years of experience of which three (3) years should be at managerial level.

  • Experience in marketing and running a marketing team.

  • Effective time management skills and the ability to multitask.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Proven ability to manage budgets.

  • Professional and proactive work ethic.

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.

  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
