Belmond Mount Nelson Hotel Assistant Banqueting Manager Jobs in South Africa; To oversee the smooth day‑to‑day running of the Banqueting Department, ensuring all functions are set up and executed to luxury standards, while managing staff, service quality, and client satisfaction.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations and procedures within the Banqueting Department.

  • Ensure function setups meet required standards and client requests.

  • Liaise with the kitchen to coordinate special orders and resolve service delays.

  • Organize event timetables, layouts, and assist associates in setup.

  • Supervise and direct efficient service of food and beverages during functions.

  • Maintain room appearance during events and oversee clean‑up after functions.

  • Conduct pre‑function briefings with service staff.

  • Follow up with clients post‑function and manage concerns.

  • Report maintenance issues and ensure corrective action is taken.

  • Assist with training plans and conduct on‑the‑job training sessions.

  • Monitor staffing percentages daily to align with budget using On‑Track system.

  • Ensure banqueting charges are accurate and revenue is posted within 24 hours.

  • Work with the Food & Beverage Manager to maintain food and beverage costs and profit margins.

    Requirements

  • 3–5 years’ F&B management experience in a luxury hotel environment, within
    Banqueting.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong leadership skills.

  • Knowledge of silverware (advantageous).

  • Good knowledge of food cost, employee scheduling, and payroll.

  • Extensive food and beverage product knowledge.

  • Working knowledge of general restaurant operations.

  • Familiarity with point‑of‑sale systems and software.

  • Strong financial understanding.

  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills..
