Job Description

Shall plan, organize, coordinate and lead the material testing operations.

Shall perform testing on raw materials for compliance to the project document and perform testing for material production and the placement quality of workmanship in construction and production are consistent with the set standards and there is no material deviation from the standards

Shall see to it that quality of products coming out of the production units meet the quality standards

Shall examine test samples

Shall evaluate and review production test data with supervisors or users of the materials and other laboratory staff

Shall build and/or adapt setup and test equipment to new situation based on data sheet and instruction from production department

Shall train, coach and supervise the staff working under him/her

Shall prepare reports and keep records on the tests conducted

Shall request and receive materials and tools to be used for the testing purpose

Shall receive and label samples of materials delivered to the lab for testing

Shall make sure specimens of raw materials and products required for testing, are properly collected and duly labeled

Shall conduct tests on raw materials & products to confirm compliance with the standard requirements

Shall perform standard tests or specialized tests as per request by clients

Shall sign on the test results of each material or product tested

Shall discuss on results of tests with supervisor and/or clients

Shall not, in any way, give compliance approval on materials or products which do

not comply with standards

Shall write note to his supervisor to ban further production of products or further use of raw materials for production, that do not meet the set quality standards.

Shall prepare and submit regularly reports to his supervisor on materials and products tested in the unit

Shall make sure that all safety rules and regulations of the company are adhered to during testing

Shall ensure that all tests are conducted ethically and no company secrets are released to outsiders without due authorization of the delegated person.

Shall ensure the testing materials and company properties used economically.

Shall ensure testing equipment and the work place kept clean and safe all the time.

Shall ensure that the testing equipment is regularly calibrated by the standards authority.

Shall perform regular performance appraisal of the staff working in the unit

Shall perform any other duties assigned to him by his/her supervisor

Shall maintain current professional license to meet Industry and governmental regulations.

Job Requirements

BSc degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or construction Technology

Minimum of 3/6 years experience for degree and Diploma graduates respectively.

Road experience is mandatory
