We deliver a portfolio of projects in South Sudan ranging from peacebuilding and conflict resolution to supporting girls’ education, all working closely with local broadcasters across the country.

Our national multi-language radio drama Life in Lulu marks 10 years on air this year while our popular weekly radio show, Our School, reaches almost two million loyal listeners with girls’ voices at the heart of the programme.

This exciting and influential role will be responsible for the overall management and delivery of a range of behaviour change and development projects which use the power of media to tackle issues of health, resilience and governance. The Senior Project Manager will:

  • Be responsible for overseeing the overall delivery and budget management of projects

  • Oversee a diverse, multidisciplinary team to ensure the agreed targets and objectives are met
    ensure the quality and cohesion of project outputs

  • Maintain relationships with donors and ensure accurate and timely financial and narrative
    donor reporting

  • Identify and respond to funding opportunities and lead on writing successful proposals

  • Represent BBC Media Action in country to some key stakeholders and ensure effective relationships and partnerships with a wide range of partners including broadcasters, NGOs, international development agencies and others

    The Ideal Candidate Will Bring:

  • Considerable experience developing and managing large-scale, donor-funded projects in a developing-country context, preferably in Africa.

  • Strong ability to develop and secure new donor funding, including experience in developing new business ideas, presenting to potential partners and funders and writing successful proposals.

  • Strong financial management skills with experience of managing donor-funded budgets and a good understanding of donor reporting requirements
    experience managing teams, preferably within a developing-country context

  • The ability to quickly forge strong working relations with other NGOs, local media, donors and other stakeholders.
