Job Summary
Lead and oversee footwear manufacturing operations to ensure efficient production processes, product quality, cost control and achievement of production targets.
Manage production teams, manufacturing equipment and operational resources while driving continuous improvement, productivity and adherence to quality and safety standards.
Support optimal utilization of resources and implementation of best manufacturing practices within the footwear production environment.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, coordinate and supervise footwear manufacturing operations to achieve production objectives.
Develop and implement production schedules to ensure timely delivery of products.
Monitor daily production activities and optimize workflow efficiency.
Manage production teams and ensure productivity, discipline and performance standards are maintained.
Oversee operation, maintenance and efficient utilization of manufacturing equipment.
Ensure compliance with quality standards throughout the production process.
Monitor product quality and coordinate corrective actions for identified defects or process deviations.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality and operational efficiency.
Control production costs and ensure efficient utilization of materials, labour and equipment.
Conduct production planning, forecasting and resource allocation activities.
Coordinate with quality assurance, maintenance, procurement and logistics teams to ensure smooth operations.
Monitor inventory usage and support material planning processes.
Ensure compliance with workplace safety, environmental and manufacturing regulations.
Prepare operational reports and provide recommendations for performance improvement.
Train, mentor and develop production personnel to enhance technical competence and operational effectiveness.
Qualifications
Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Production Management or a related technical field.
Additional training in production management, quality systems or manufacturing operations is an added advantage.
Experience
Minimum five (5) years of relevant experience in footwear manufacturing or a comparable production environment.
Experience in supervisory or managerial production roles.
Demonstrated experience managing
manufacturing teams and production equipment.
Experience in process improvement and operational performance management is desirable.
