AWF IT Assistant Jobs in Kenya

The IT Assistant will provide helpdesk, user and desktop support (hardware and software), as well as perform a variety of moderately complex information technology support duties to ensure smooth delivery of technology services.


S/he will also monitor, coordinate and assist end-users in the operation of computer hardware, software, and peripherals in order to achieve desired results.

In addition, the incumbent will participate in conducting technology research and user training. The IT Assistant will report to the Systems Administrator.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Operate central IT helpdesk to provide support for end-user hardware, operating system, applications software, and network-related problems.
  • Provide user-level technical support for end-users, computers, printers, mobile devices, and video conferencing.
  • Assist with user management through Active Directory and Microsoft Office 365.
  • Configure client machines with Windows Operating Systems and provide support for MS Office suite, MS Outlook Mail, and other business applications.
  • Provide troubleshooting and support to all users’ connections to the LAN/WAN.
  • Update IT assets inventory and coordinate preventive maintenance.
  • Assist in management of systems backup, testing, and restoration.
  • Assist with creation and documentation of IT systems and networks.

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Computer Science and at least 2 years of relevant work experience in a busy environment, or a Higher
    Diploma in Computer Science or Information Technology with at least 3 years of relevant work experience in a busy environment.
  • At least 2 years' experience in Windows server 2008/12 server and exchange 2013 installation plus user support.
  • MCSE or MCITP certification is required.
    CCNA, structured cabling installer (DLI), and database administration using Microsoft SQL 2012/14 is desired.
  • Good knowledge of cloud-based solutions, specifically Office 365.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills; good team skills and ability to work without supervision.
  • Ability to configure firewalls and first-level network security.
  • Working knowledge of accounting systems (Navision) and remote desktop connections.
  • Ability support video conference facility and Cisco VOIP solutions.
