AVSI is involved in more than 107 cooperation projects in 31 developing countries worldwide, in Africa, Latin America, the Caribbean, Eastern Europe, Middle East and Asia.

AVSI’s main activity areas are, Education and
social development, urban upgrading, healthcare, labour, agriculture, food security and water, energy and environment, humanitarian emergency and migrants and refugees, reaching more than 2,6 million direct beneficiaries.

AVSI Foundation Kenya implements projects in early childhood development and education, psychosocial support, health care including HIV/AIDS, economic strengthening for families in need., Community projects, food security
and emergency relief.

Aim of the position:

  • Assure the respect of AVSI procedures and norms in performing all the activities under
    Logistics & Procurement. Provide the due and prompt support necessary for program implementation and HQ office maintenance and functioning in AVSI Kenya.

    Main Responsibilities and duties

  • Coordinate the purchasing of goods and services needed for the implementation of office and project
    activities including goods and services of Distance Support Programme. The purchasing has to be
    conducted according to the established procedures set forth in the Operational Manual in accordance to NORMA AMPE 18.
  • Assist manage the vehicle fleet belonging to AVSI and its projects (follow the rules for the use of the vehicles, for the maintenance of the vehicles, management of fuel purchases, insurance etc.).
  • Manage the ordinary and extraordinary maintenance of
    AVSI assets and the general office maintenance.
  • Assist professionally and efficiently organize the work of the staff in the department (Driver, Watchman, and Cleaner).
  • Support the preparation of new projects budget with documented and updated information on goods and services availability and price lists.
  • Make sure that the adequate logistic support during meetings, seminars or other events is provided.

    Minimum requirements:

  • First degree in Procurement and supply chain management
  • Have a valid driving license and driving experience in major towns
  • Flexible and motivated self-starter personality
  • Computer literate.
