Avenue Healthcare Resident Physician Jobs in Kenya

Avenue Healthcare Resident Physician Jobs in Kenya;To provide overall clinical leadership and governance as well as clinical care in the department of clinical medicine.

The Resident Physician will be an active member of the multi‑disciplinary healthcare team and contribute to continuing professional development programs.

Main Responsibilities

  • Conduct outpatient physician clinics in line with hospital schedules and attend to both walk‑in and referred patients.

  • Attend to all patients requiring physician review within hospital SOPs, national and international guidelines.

  • Conduct timely ward rounds and patient reviews for all internal medicine patients.

  • Ensure accurate documentation of patient history, examination, investigations and management.

  • Provide clarity on investigations, interpret results and update patients and next of kin.

  • Facilitate patient admissions, consents and discharges.

  • Counsel patients and families on treatment compliance and involve them in decision‑making.

  • Carry out procedures and surgical interventions within licensed privileges.

  • Conduct family conferences in line with hospital SOPs.

  • Participate in morbidity and mortality audits and meetings.

  • Engage in incident reporting, root cause analysis and quality improvement.

  • Contribute to continuous review and improvement of departmental SOPs.

  • Facilitate CME, mentorship and skills training for colleagues.

  • Acquire new skills and proactively implement best practices.

  • Maintain positive work attitude and foster teamwork.

  • Ensure patient privacy, confidentiality and satisfaction through quality care and communication.

  • Support sustainability and growth by
    increasing service quality and diversity, and participating in outreach activities.

  • Support revenue cycle management through pre‑authorization, billing and accurate claims documentation.

  • Maintain awareness of credit limits.

  • Adhere to Avenue corporate governance policies, prevent and report fraud, and implement audit recommendations.

  • Ensure adequate knowledge of all Avenue policies, procedures and systems.

  • Perform any other duty assigned by the supervisor in line with the job description.

    Person Specification

  • Specialist recognition in Internal Medicine.

  • Master’s in Internal Medicine.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery.

  • Fellowship in cardiology, endocrinology or nephrology.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a related position.
