Job Objective/Purpose

Perform diagnostic imaging procedures in line with the hospital policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities


1. Attend to walk in and referred patients who present to the Perform imaging procedures on patients to meet the established practice parameters and standards of care while ensuring client satisfaction.

2. Processing and printing of quality and appropriate images to assist in diagnosis.

3. Ensuring availability and optimum utilization of consumables for cost effectiveness.

4. Producing timely and accurate results in line with Imaging SOPs

5. To ensure real time billing of all procedures has been done before they are carried out.

6. Accurate identification and preparation of the client prior to imaging procedures

7. Counseling of patients and next of kin about the procedure and obtain consent.

8. To provide high quality care and services and maintaining the professional ethics.

9. Ensure radiation safety within the facility for both staff and patients.

10. Adhere to Infection Prevention Control measures per the hospital policies.

11. Performs calibration and routine preventive maintenance on imaging equipment per the established procedures and protocols.

12. Safeguard and provide basic maintenance and safety of imaging equipment in the facility.

13. Report daily to the Branch Manager on the status and usage of radiology equipment, and radiology supplies

14. Track and report equipment downtime

15. Track and report equipment usage

16. Daily monitoring of stock levels to ensure no stock outs and provide feedback

to the Radiology Manager for new orders.

17. Maintain imaging records, ensure filing of patient records and tests results to comply with the legislative regulations.

18. Tracking and check patient images and correct reports from the radiologists.

19. Ensure daily shift handover report.

20. Advice on appropriate and/or additional imaging procedure to aide in diagnosis.

21. Active participation in monthly departmental meetings

22. Always Maintaining the patient’s privacy and confidentiality.

23. Any other duty as assigned by the supervisor in line with the job description.

Person Specification

1. Higher Diploma in Diagnostic Radiography/Medical Imaging Sciences

2. Bachelor of Science Degree in Radiography or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution will be an added advantage.

3. 2 years working experience in a similar position.

4. Good interpersonal and communication skills

5. Attention to detail.

6. Result Oriented

7. Customer focus
