Avenue Healthcare Medical Records Officer Jobs in Kenya



Key Responsibilities

  • Cataloguing and maintaining proper patient records (OP/IP).

  • Ensuring systematic filing of all patient records for easy retrieval.

  • Safeguarding medical records to maintain confidentiality.

  • Maintaining a log of all requested files, noting department/manager, dispatch date, and ensuring timely return.

  • Retrieving and dispatching patient cards/files as required.

  • Archiving old files appropriately.

  • Ensuring proper disposal of medical records per organizational policies.

  • Preparing and maintaining periodic Ministry of Health reports.

  • Keeping statistics on cost of treatment and top disease patterns.

  • Recording, analyzing, interpreting, and disseminating data on specific cases to prepare statistical reports (monthly, quarterly, annual) on patient statistics, disease trends, mortality, and bed occupancy.

  • Compiling the Annual Health Statistical Report.

  • Performing any other duty assigned by the supervisor in line with the job description.

    Person Specification

  • Degree in Health Records and Information Technology.

  • Valid license from the Health Records and Information Managers Board.

  • At least 3 years’ work experience in a hospital setting.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Strong attention to detail.
