Avenue Healthcare ICU Nurse Jobs in Kenya;Provide professional and compassionate nursing services and high‑quality care to patients, ensuring review and treatment as per hospital protocols, nursing standards and practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with the Clinical team to navigate patients through treatment journey and administer nursing protocols.

  • Manage patients requiring advanced life support interventions (ventilation, vasoactive infusions, dialysis).

  • Continuously monitor and interpret vital signs using advanced systems and respond promptly to changes.

  • Assist in complex bedside procedures (intubation, central line, chest tube, peritoneal dialysis).

  • Titrate IV infusions (inotropes, vasopressors, insulin, sedatives) per ICU protocols.

  • Maintain ICU charts and flow sheets (hourly I/O, pressure area assessments, sedation scores, ventilator settings).

  • Manage end‑of‑life care with empathy and professionalism.

  • Maintain ICU‑specific competencies and certifications (ACLS, BLS, Critical Care Nursing).

  • Participate in admissions, ward rounds and handovers.

  • Manage patient data and records effectively.

  • Enforce infection control standards and bundles (SSI, VAP, CAUTI, CLABSI).

  • Ensure unit financial viability through cost management and proper documentation.

  • Adhere to Avenue Healthcare governance policies and
    audit recommendations.

  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures and Nursing Council of Kenya standards.

  • Supervise Patient Attendants as per job description.

    Person Specification

  • BScN or Diploma in Nursing (Higher Diploma an advantage).

  • Valid Nursing License from NCK.

  • Valid certification in BLS, ACLS and Critical Care Nursing.

  • 2+ years’ experience in a busy environment.

  • Customer focus and results oriented.

  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills.

  • Highly responsive, ethical and responsible]
