Avenue Healthcare General Nurse - Med/Surg Jobs in Kenya; Provide professional and compassionate nursing services and high‑quality care to patients, ensuring review and treatment in line with hospital protocols, nursing standards, and practices.


Key Responsibilities

  • Work with the clinical team to guide adult patients through treatment plans.

  • Administer nursing protocols per policies and record/report sentinel incidents within 24 hours.

  • Monitor, assess, and chart patient condition and response to treatment.

  • Ensure proper drug administration and management.

  • Participate in ward rounds and handovers, ensuring consultants explain procedures and obtain consent.

  • Manage patient data and records effectively.

  • Ensure patient safety following the 6 International Patient Safety Goals (IPSGs).

  • Supervise Patient Attendants.

  • Maintain infection control standards and observe bundles (SSI, VAP, CAUTI, CLABSI).

  • Organize emergency trolley, ensure supplies are stocked, and report damaged equipment.

  • Support financial viability by managing costs and ensuring proper documentation.

  • Uphold Avenue Healthcare corporate governance policies and implement audit recommendations.

  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and government/professional standards.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


    Person Specification

  • BScN
    or Diploma in Nursing (KRCHN); Higher Diploma (advantage).

  • Valid Nursing License from NCK.

  • Valid BLS and ACLS certification.

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a busy environment.

  • Customer‑focused and results‑oriented.

  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills.

  • Highly responsive, ethical, and responsible.
