Avenue Healthcare Driver - EMT Jobs in Kenya; Manage and operate ambulance/ vehicles to provide safe, reliable and efficient transport services to Avenue’s clients and staff in a timely, professional and compassionate manner.

Key Responsibilities:

1.Ambulance Maintenance:

a)Ensuring the ambulance is kept clean and secure at all times, no unauthorized passengers.

b)Checking the vehicle daily to ensure that all systems - lights, brakes, horn, siren, tyres, signaling etc. are in good working condition and reporting problems / malfunctions immediately.

c)Checking and verifying that the engine oil, battery, brake fluid and fuel levels are adequate.

d)Ensuring that the vehicle is properly maintained and stocked with spare tyre, spanner, emergency triangle, first aid box etc.

e)Updates and properly maintains the driver’s log book - mileage, record of trips and accounts for fuel consumption

f)Checking and notifying the Manager at least two weeks ahead of expiry of license and insurance.

g)Immediately reporting any incidents including delays, mechanical problems; accidents etc... - and taking appropriate action to rectify or solve the problem

2.Ensure the ambulance is well stocked with required medical items, documents and consumables, and all equipment are in good condition.

3.Assist with managing the dispatch desk - scheduling vehicles efficiently, booking & allocating drivers and vehicles to various transport needs and requests.

4.Keep a proper log of all bookings; Confirm bookings, handle of emergency calls, communicating with the caller

to gathering pertinent info, and responding to and advising the caller appropriately.

5.Assessing patients at the scene & en route, communicating with medical personnel to determine the next course of action in patient treatment.

6.Ensure that Avenue Healthcare corporate governance policies are adhered to, including preventing, detecting, and reporting any fraud or criminal activities, and Implementing audit recommendations.

7.Ensure adequate knowledge of, and compliance to all Avenue Healthcare policies, procedures, and systems, especially policies pertaining to the provision of medical services and finance.

8.Any other duty as assigned by the supervisor.

Person Specification

?Certificate in Emergency Medical Technician with a Valid Practicing /Operating card

?Valid Driving License with 2+ year experience as an EMT OPERATOR

?Customer focus and results oriented

?Strong interpersonal skills, team playing abilities, and communication skills.

?Highly responsive, ethical and responsible
