The Austrian Red Cross (AutRC) is offering a job opportunity for a highly motivated Delegate with experience in project management, who is based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The delegate has the overall responsibility for the implementation of the project “BASE Basic Services to Southern Tigray”, which includes cash assistance, rehabilitation of water systems and provision of life-saving emergency medical services.
The assignment starts in July 2021 and is limited to 12 months, with option to extend.
Main duties and responsibilities
Ensure quality implementation of the “BASE” project including optimal use of financial resources and delivery of project components to a high technical standard in line with international best practices
Regularly visit field activities and ensure that the project is comprehensively monitored, and monitoring tools are regularly updated
Lead on financial and narrative reporting to AutRC HQ, donors and partners, ensuring reports are of a high quality and are submitted in a timely manner
Support Ethiopian Red Cross Society (ERCS) staff in developing project tools (e.g. work plans, budget trackers), and input into the design of key project tools (e.g. needs and market assessments)
Assist ERCS and its local branches to strengthen Cash and Voucher Assistance (CVA) capacities
Support ERCS staff to ensure the necessary capabilities to adhere to best practice, legal regulations and procedures
Coordinate with Red Cross- and Red Crescent Movement and other international partners
Your profile and skills
At least three
to five years international humanitarian and/or development experience (NGO, IO or Charity) at project management level, with focus on financial management and project monitoring
Field experience in humanitarian work in Cash and Voucher Assistance is an asset
Experience in EMS (e.g. Emergency Medical Technician or Paramedic) is an asset
University degree and/or specialized training in a field related to humanitarian work
Experience in the Red Cross- and Red Crescent Movement and experience in East Africa are a strong asset
Excellent English skills required, German and Amharic skills are a strong asset
Good organizational and interpersonal skills, flexibility and strong motivation, ability to work independently
Team player and cultural sensitive personality, ability to work in a multi-cultural team
Willingness to work in a demanding and difficult settings with frequent travels in-country
Compensation depends on qualifications and experience, minimum monthly all-in salary of € 3.495,00 gross.
