Astor Automotive Accountant - Motor Industry Jobs on South Africa


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate financial statements and reports in accordance with IFRS.

  • Control and reconcile fixed assets, debtors, and creditors.

  • Perform bank, payment, stock, and balance sheet reconciliations, resolving discrepancies timeously.

  • Oversee vehicle stock reconciliations and stock counts.

  • Monitor parts and workshop cash sales.

  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly journals.

  • Maintain and oversee the general ledger, ensuring accurate and timely posting.

  • Control branch financial activities, expenses, and risk management processes.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

  • Proactively review accounting processes and recommend improvements.

  • Support and guide junior accounting staff as required.

  • Perform ad hoc accounting duties as assigned.

    Minimum Requirements
  • BCom Degree in Accounting or similar qualification.

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar accounting role within the motor industry.

  • Valid Code 8 Driver’s Licence.

  • Solid understanding of dealership financial processes and controls.
