Association for Aid and Relief, Japan (AAR Japan) is an International Non-Governmental Organization that reaches out to the most vulnerable populations around the globe. AAR Japan is to launch a new project of education to assist primary education in Kalobeyei, Turkana West Sub-County from 31st March 2023.

Therefore, AAR Japan is seeking for a Case Work Officer for the abovementioned project. The successful candidate will be on duty at AAR Japan Kakuma Office, which is located in Kakuma, Turkana West, Turkana County. The candidate will work under the direct supervision of AAR Japan's international staff. The details of the position in concern are as follows.

Duties;

Carry all duties under the direct supervision of AAR Japan’s international staff;

Liaise with stakeholders (local authorities, local-led organizations in communities or other agencies in education sector) to conduct a case work project;

Develop case work guidelines, training manuals, survey tools;

Pay a site visit to target schools and communities to monitor the case work activity progress and give teacher/student beneficiaries instruction/advise for the way forward;

Provide professional information and views on case work to AAR Japan’s international staff when needed;

Conduct a pre/post survey to assess the impact of the project, analyze and compile collected data;

Write a monthly report and submit to AAR Japan’s international staff every month to report the progress of the project implementation;

Perform any other duties instructed by AAR Japan’s international staff;

Requirements;

More than 3 years’ work experience in humanitarian work;

Deep understanding on case work, community support system development or

self-support system development, relative international and national policies, teaching and learning materials;

Field experience in the refugee set up is greatly valued;

Work experience with UN agencies or international NGOs is highly valued;

Fluent language skills of English;

Additional language skills of mother tongue of refugees, such as French, Arabic, Kiswahili, is highly valued;

Team-work skills;

Communication skills;

Independency and professionalism;

PC skills (Microsoft Office is a must);

Period (subject to change due to internal circumstances);

From 31st March 2023 to 31st December 2023 with 3-month probation period

Salary (Gross);

Gross amount of 62,000 KES to 101,600 KES per month (amount will be determined based on experiences or skills)
