Asante Africa Foundation Regional Finance Director Jobs in Kenya;The Regional Finance Director is responsible for financial management, reporting, treasury, and budgeting across Asante Africa Foundation’s three East Africa operating countries. This is a hands‑on regional finance leadership role, focusing on consolidation, reporting, treasury, budgeting, audit coordination, capacity‑building, and oversight of country finance teams.

Reporting and Working Relationships

  • Reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) with functional reporting to Country Board Treasurers and the Global Finance Board Committee Treasurer.

  • Works closely with Country Managers, Country Finance Leads, Program teams, HR, Development & Partnerships, and US finance counterparts.

  • Liaises with external auditors, tax and regulatory authorities, and donors on financial reporting and audit matters.

    Key Responsibilities

    Financial Management and Reporting

  • Oversee preparation and consolidation of accurate, timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

  • Ensure timely donor reports, board reports, and statutory financial statements.

  • Coordinate integrated regional reporting with US finance team.

    Treasury and Cash‑Flow Management

  • Oversee cash‑flow planning, liquidity management, and funding forecasts.

  • Review and approve wire transfers aligned to budgets.

  • Manage foreign‑currency exposure and funding risks.

    Budgeting, Forecasting, and Grant Management

  • Lead annual budgeting and reforecasting across all countries.

  • Ensure donor restrictions and cost allocations are properly applied.

  • Support proposal budgeting and financial review of new funding opportunities.

    Audit and Governance Support

  • Coordinate annual external audits and consolidated reporting.

  • Maintain audit readiness and implement recommendations.

  • Support Global Finance Committee and Board governance processes.

    Governance & Risk Controls

  • Recommend quarterly fund releases based on compliance reviews.

  • Oversee multi‑country financial risk management framework.

  • Review and approve wire transfers under segregation‑of‑duties controls.

    Systems, Process Improvement, and Team Support

  • Strengthen and standardize finance systems and workflows.

  • Drive improvements in automation, reporting, and analysis.

  • Mentor and build capacity of country finance teams.

    People Management

  • Provide
    regional oversight, leadership, and technical guidance to country finance teams.

  • Support recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and staff development.

  • Promote collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous professional development.

    What Success Looks Like

  • Accurate financial reports delivered on schedule.

  • Zero late statutory filings and timely audit implementation.

  • Budgets and forecasts delivered to agreed timelines.

  • Strengthened and consistent country finance teams.

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or related field (Master’s degree an advantage).

  • Professional accounting qualification (CPA, ACCA, CA, or equivalent).

  • Additional qualifications in IFRS, taxation, or nonprofit financial management are an advantage.

    Experience

  • Minimum of eight (8) years’ progressive experience in finance and accounting, including senior or supervisory responsibility.

  • At least three (3) years in a multi‑country or regional finance role across Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.

  • Experience in nonprofit, donor‑funded, or multi‑country operations strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience in reporting, budgeting, treasury, and audits.

    Competencies and Attributes

  • Strong technical finance and accounting skills.

  • High ethical standards, integrity, and discretion.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and accounting systems proficiency.

  • Strong communication skills with ability to explain finance to non‑finance colleagues.

  • Ability to work effectively across cultures and build capacity of others.

  • Excellent written and spoken English; Kiswahili proficiency an advantage.
