Job DescriptionArts Media Production SC (Arts TV) is looking for a Chief Operating Officer (COO), a senior executive tasked with overseeing the day-to-day administrative and operational functions of Arts.
The COO will report directly to the chief executive officer (CEO) and is considered to be second in the chain of command.
The successful candidate will have proven professional experience and a detailed knowledge of the Media Industry's best practice processes and will make sure that all operations are running efficiently and all policies are adhered to.
Objectives of this Role
Collaborate with the CEO in setting and driving organizational vision, operational strategy, and hiring needs
Translate strategy into actionable goals for performance and growth helping to implement organization-wide goal setting, performance management, and annual operating planning
Oversee company operations and employee productivity, building a highly inclusive culture ensuring team members thrive and organizational outcomes are met
Ensure effective recruiting, onboarding, professional development, performance management, and retention
Adhere to company, federal, state, and local business requirements, enforcing compliance and taking action when necessary
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities
Analyze internal operations and identify areas of process enhancement
Develop actionable business strategies and plans that ensure alignment with short-term and long-term objectives developed in tandem with the CEO
Directly oversee operations, HR, and accounting, and partner with the CEO on sales management to budget for sufficient investment capital to achieve growth targets over the near term
Aggressively manage capital investment and expenses to ensure the company achieves
investor targets relative to growth and profitability
Monitor performance with tracking and establish corrective measures as needed, and prepare detailed reports, both current and forecasting
Maintain and build trusted relationships with key customers, clients, partners, and stakeholders
Job Requirements
Requirements / Required Traits
Five years experience managing a complex enterprise's human resources, finances, operations and strategies as Chief Operating Office or relevant role, preferably in the Media/Journalism/communication/Marketing Industry
Proven track record of outstanding performance in a previous complex enterprise.
Proven track record of managing complex budgets successfully.
Demonstrated experience of ethical leadership.
Outstanding verbal and written skills, and experience working with staff on all levels.
Background knowledge of Politics, economics, culture and literature
Ability to make business projections three years into the future.
Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics
Working knowledge of IT/Business infrastructure/ERP software and MS Office
Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities
Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills
Aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving
Skills and Qualifications / Preferred Qualifications
BSc/BA in Business Administration or relevant field; MSc/MBA is a plus
5+ years experience in executive leadership positions
Leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity
Understanding of advanced business planning and regulatory issues
A solid grasp of data analysis and performance metrics
Be able to diagnose problems quickly and have foresight into potential issues
Fundraising experience preferred
International business experience preferred
Prior Media/Journalism/Communication/Marketing Industry experience preferred
