Job Summary:

  • The Art teacher will be responsible for developing in each student an interest in and the ability for creative expression in art, using skills and techniques of artistic expression consistent with school guidelines; to develop aesthetic understandings and appreciations; to discover and developing talents of students in the field of art.

    Job Duties

  • Plan curriculum documents in a collaborative manner to reflect the standards and practices of the Academy in the International curriculum section.

  • Engage in effective teaching practice that embraces inquiry teaching and learning methods and differentiate activities to meet the needs of all students.

  • Authentically access, record, and track the progress of all students.

  • Communicate necessary internal and external art program information to all stakeholders.

  • Prepare and participate in activities planned for all students such as open house and physical education in coordination with the curriculum coordinator(s)

  • Attend training sessions when needed and as per the request of school management in order to enhance the understanding of the IPC & iPrimary curriculums.

    Qualifications

  • Must be a degree holder – Bachelor of Education or PGDE/Early Childhood Education for Primary School from a recognized institution.

  • Must be registered with Teacher Service Commission.

  • At least three years of demonstrable teaching experience.

  • Familiar with the British curricula, especially iPrimary or Cambridge, IGCSE.

  • Knowledge
    and experience of using ICT as a learning tool.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.

  • Ability and proven willingness to support clubs and other co-curricular activities.

    Skills and Competence:

  • Good planning and organization skills.

  • Knowledge and experience of using ICT as a learning tool.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English.

  • Familiar with the British curricula, especially iPrimary or Cambridge, IGCSE.

  • Understands the issues surrounding the safeguarding of children.

  • Knowledgeable in modern pedagogy and demonstrable teaching practices.

  • Passionate about 21st Century teaching skills and I.T. literate.

  • Innovative and creative.
