APHRC Field Coordinator Jobs in Nairobi - Kenya

The African Population and Health Research Center (APHRC) is an international non-profit,

non-governmental organization that carries out policy relevant research on population,
health, education and development issues facing sub-Saharan Africa.


APHRC invites applications for a field coordinator for its Public Engagement on the Right to Food project.


The main aim of the project is to stimulate dialogue and engage the communities living in the urban informal settlements on the right to food.


Minimum requirements: Field Coordinator:



  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
  • Be fluent in English and Kiswahili.
  • Have proven experience in research work (quantitative and/or qualitative data
    collection, analysis and report writing).
  • Previous experience working as a field coordinator/ supervisor


    Added Advantages:


  • Degree in Foods, Nutrition and Dietetics or Public Health
  • Previous experience working in urban informal settlements
  • Previous engagement with APHRC is an added advantage.


    The successful candidates will be expected to:


  • Assist in day to day coordination and supervision of the project activities including
    logistics and coordination of activities
  • Liaison between the project and the community organized groups subcontracted by
    APHRC
  • Appraise the project team of relevant activities taking place in the projects in the
    community
  • Support qualitative data collection and management, ensuring all activities are
    conducted satisfactorily
  • Provide a daily
    report to the Research Team on the progress.
  • Timely reporting of project related issues for quick and effective troubleshooting.
  • Timely and accurate accounting of project finances
  • Attend and participate in all project related meetings
  • Coordination of mobilization activities
  • Handling any other field logistics
  • Any other project related activities as the project team may deem necessary
  • Support other related projects in the MCW unit
