APA Life Assurance Company Ltd Claims Officer Jobs in Kenya



Key Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide advice on making a claim and the processes involved.

  • Process new insurance claims notifications.

  • Collect accurate information and documents to proceed with a claim.

  • Analyze claims made by policyholders.

  • Contact service providers and arrange repairs on policyholder’s property.

  • Monitor progress of claims.

  • Investigate potentially fraudulent claims.

  • Identify reasons why full payment may not be made.

  • Ensure fair settlement of valid claims.

  • Build relationships with loss adjusters, forensic accountants, solicitors and other claims professionals.

  • Ensure customers are treated fairly and receive excellent service per industry and company guidelines.

  • Handle complaints associated with claims.

  • Initiate legal recovery of monies paid out.

  • Maintain good broker relations.

  • Keep costs at a minimum.

  • Adhere to legal requirements, industry regulations and customer quality standards.

  • Ensure premiums are settled prior to claim processing.

  • Liaise with underwriting department for policy terms and endorsements.

  • Advise on loss‑making/non‑performing brokers.

  • Respond promptly to client/stakeholder enquiries.

  • Ensure discharge vouchers are dispatched and settled per guidelines.

  • Maintain records of claims processed for effective
    query response.

  • Brief departmental manager regularly and consult as required.

  • Enter claims data into system.

  • Assist and train new staff on procedures and policies.

  • Participate in meetings and consultations to address performance hindrances.

    Academic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field.

    Professional Qualifications

  • ACII/AIIK.

    Knowledge and Experience

  • At least 4 years’ relevant experience in Insurance.
