Job Description

1. Job Title: Langano Campground Caretaker/custodian

2. Post of Immediate Supervisor:
AMCOM Assistant Manager

3. Department/Service/Office: Langano Campground

4. Working hours :
40 hours a week ( Flexible hours)

5. Description :

Occupying this position requires either living in the Camp or being a resident of nearby towns /area. The Langano Campground recreational facility covers approximately a hectare on the western shore of Lake Langano and provides recreation facilities in a tented camp environment. Langano is approximately 200 km from ADDIS ABABA

6. Main Duties:

The Langano campground caretaker provides safeguard and custodian service to the Langano Campsite. He/she is the immediately supervise of other staff assigned at the camp.

Description of Duties:

The Campground Caretaker is responsible for the routine duties involved in serving campground members. She/he is responsible for assisting members at the campground, making sure their stay is pleasant by providing American standard customer service.

Safeguards the Lake Langano Campsite guests and all AMCOM property at site.

Maintains the landscaping at the site; prepare all necessary materials for guests (like canvases tent

and kitchen items.)

Inspect and keep clean the AMCOM property such as the boat engine, generator, water pump, refrigerator and other kitchen appliances.

Supervises any other staff at the site.

Set up tents, cots, and sleeping bags for visiting customers.

Greeting members in a friendly and welcoming manner.

Providing American standard customer service to all members and guests.

Providing accurate and up-to-date information regarding available service at the Camp

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements

a. Education: Completion of Elementary School.

b. Prior Work Experience: Minimum of 1 to 2 years in the hotel & hospitality sector. Experience in a resort is preferred

c. Post Entry Training: 1 week on-the-job training.

d. Language Proficiency: Able to communicate in English and Oromifa (host region language) .

Level 2 (basic working knowledge) of English/Amharic speaking/reading/writing

e. Knowledge: Good working knowledge of how to plant and care for plants and flowers typical for the area.

f. Basic knowledge of general maintenance procedures to able to maintain Campsite property including appliances.

g. Skills and Abilities: Skilled in gardening. Ability to do arduous physical work.

h. Having a driver’s license is a plus

i. Can follow orders, and is alert and reliable. Can lead others and give instructions
