Amentum Certified Arborist Jobs in Kenya; The Certified Arborist will be responsible for maintaining improved grounds, ensuring a neat, well‑kept, and healthy appearance throughout assigned areas while adhering to DoD regulations and landscaping service standards.

Job Responsibilities

Grounds Maintenance

  • Maintain improved grounds including prestige areas, POL areas, tanks, fence lines, pipelines, and berms.

  • Conduct trimming and pruning of trees, shrubs, and plants to promote health and aesthetics.

  • Trim vegetation around objects such as fences, walls, signs, lights, hydrants, sidewalks, and building perimeters.

    Assessment & Treatment

  • Diagnose tree and plant health concerns, including pests and diseases.

  • Recommend and execute treatments including fertilization, pruning, and irrigation.

    Equipment Operation

  • Operate and maintain chainsaws, pruners, shears, stump grinders, and other landscaping tools.

  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations in equipment use and waste disposal.

    Collaboration & Documentation

  • Coordinate with grounds maintenance personnel and facility management.

  • Document and report maintenance activities and inspections.

  • Provide emergency support for storm damage or fallen trees.

    Minimum Requirements

  • Current ISA Certified Arborist® or equivalent qualification.

  • 2–4 years’ arboriculture or grounds maintenance experience.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Proficiency in landscaping equipment operation.

  • Knowledge of vegetation species, pruning techniques, and disease diagnostics.

  • Understanding of DoD landscaping and safety standards.

  • Physical ability to perform outdoor tasks in varied conditions.

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

  • Valid
    passport (minimum 1 year validity) and ability to travel internationally.

  • Ability to pass contract medical requirements and maintain compliance.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.

    Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in austere OCONUS environments with multi‑national workforce.

  • Valid driver’s license and country visa (as required).

  • Experience in government or military landscaping services.

  • Advanced certifications such as ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ).

  • Knowledge of Service Level Standards J‑1503050‑06.

  • Familiarity with OSHA or DoD landscaping standards.

  • Strong problem‑solving and plant health management skills.

    Other Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safety culture, complete training, and participate in emergency response tasks.

    Quality

  • Conform to Amentum Quality Policy and ensure customer satisfaction.

    Procedure Compliance

  • Implement operational, safety, quality, and environmental requirements of all plans and policies.
