Amentum Bicycle Mechanic Jobs in Kenya; The Bicycle Mechanic will provide professional bicycle repair, assembly, maintenance, and support services for Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) programs, ensuring high‑quality and safe operations for government and customer‑owned bicycles.

Job Responsibilities

Assembly & Repair

Assemble and repair bicycles, installing replacement parts and accessories.

Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and adjustments of MWR‑owned bicycles.

Provide repair and assembly services for customer‑owned bikes with approved fees.

Assemble bicycles for MWR programs in line with manufacturer guidelines.

Documentation & Compliance

Maintain accurate bicycle repair logs, available for government review twice monthly.

Ensure compliance with manufacturer requirements and safety standards.

Event Support

Provide on‑site maintenance and repair during MWR‑sponsored bike races.

Ensure bicycles are safe for participants.

Workshop Management

Operate and maintain a safe, clean bike repair shop.

Identify and order replacement parts and supplies.

Maintain positive customer relations and address service requests.

Minimum Requirements

1–3 years’ experience as a bicycle mechanic.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Knowledge of bicycle mechanics, assembly, and repairs.

Experience maintaining detailed service records.

Strong mechanical and problem‑solving skills.

Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Ability to lift and maneuver bicycles and equipment.

Flexibility to support biking events.

Valid passport (minimum 1 year validity) and ability to travel

internationally.

Ability to pass contract medical requirements and maintain compliance.

Ability to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in austere OCONUS environments with multi‑national workforce.

Valid driver’s license and country visa (as required).

Certification from a recognized bicycle mechanic training institute (e.g., Barnett or United Bicycle Institute).

Experience managing commercial or rental bike shop operations.

Knowledge of repairing road, mountain, and recreational bikes.

Experience supporting outdoor recreation programs or events.

Other Responsibilities

Safety

Maintain a safety culture, complete training, and participate in emergency response tasks.

Quality

Conform to Amentum Quality Policy and ensure customer satisfaction.

Procedure Compliance

Implement operational, safety, quality, and environmental requirements of all plans and policies.
