Amentum Assistant Fire Chief of Training Jobs in Kenya; Amentum, a global leader in advanced engineering, technical, and professional services serving the US government, allies, and critical infrastructure sectors, is seeking an Assistant Fire Chief of Training to support a unique US Navy program based on the island of Diego Garcia. The role is responsible for developing, managing, and implementing comprehensive training programs for fire and emergency response personnel, ensuring operational readiness and compliance with fire service standards.

Job Responsibilities

Training Program Leadership

Lead and manage the Fire and Emergency Services (F&ES) training program.

Design and implement tailored training programs for a multi‑national workforce.

Supervise classroom instruction, hands‑on exercises, drills, and simulations.

Evaluate personnel performance during training and readiness drills.

Certification & Compliance

Ensure personnel achieve and maintain fire service certifications (NFPA, DoD, Navy).

Develop and maintain schedules for certification courses.

Oversee procurement and maintenance of training equipment and materials.

Policies & Records

Establish training policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Maintain detailed training records and prepare compliance reports.

Serve as liaison to external training organizations and certifying bodies.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum 3 years’ experience leading an F&ES training section or division.

Certification as

Assistant Chief of Operations and Fire Instructor III.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience developing and delivering comprehensive fire/emergency training programs.

Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

Ability to pass contract medical requirements and maintain compliance.

Ability to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in austere OCONUS environments with multi‑national workforce.

Valid driver’s license and country visa (as required).

Advanced coursework in fire service leadership, training delivery, and tactics.

Familiarity with NFPA, DoD, and Navy training standards.

Experience procuring and maintaining training equipment.

Proven track record of conducting large‑scale training exercises in challenging environments.
