Minimum Qualification and Experience

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: -

Must have three (3) years' relevant work experience as Sports Coach or in a comparable position;

Bachelor's degree in Physical Education/ Sports Science or equivalent qualification from a recognized and accredited institution;

Technical / Coaching competence in at least one sports discipline from accredited authority;

Proficiency in computer applications; and

Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail: -

Coaching, identifying individual talent, preparing teams in their sport activities of specialization;

Organizing sports competition in conjunction with relevant sports associations;

Scouting, identifying, organizing and developing coaching talents;

Archiving sports information, records and artifacts;

Participation in quality audits; and

Ensure that all sports equipment is organized, stored and maintained appropriately and treated with due care by all users.

Formulate and implement sports related policies rules and regulations.

Prepare games calendar periodically for different sports and ensure that participants have enough time to prepare for the same.

Collating sports and games information and prepare reports; and
