Minimum Qualification and Experience

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:

  • Diploma in Secretarial Studies with three (3) years' working experience;

  • Stage III Single and Group certificates with nine (9) years working experience;

  • Bachelor's degree in any of the following disciplines: Secretarial Studies, Business Office Management, Business Management or equivalent qualifications from a recognized and accredited institution;

  • Proficiency in computer applications; and

  • Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

    Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail:

  • Taking oral dictation;

  • Word and data processing;

  • Managing e-office;

  • Operating office equipment;

  • Handling telephone calls and appointments;

  • Maintaining office diary and travel itineraries;

  • Managing office protocol;

  • Ensuring security of office records, documents and equipment;

  • Maintaining an up-to-date filing system in the office;

  • Preparing responses to routine correspondence; and

  • Managing office petty cash.
