ALIMA Head of Mission Jobs in South Sudan

ALIMA Head of Mission Jobs in South Sudan; During the assignment, the Head of Mission’s (HOM) primary priorities will be to design and implement programmes, monitor and evaluate activities, lead and supervise teams, manage safety and security, represent the organisation with stakeholders, ensure PSEA compliance, and secure funding for 2026 and 2027.

Responsibilities

Programme Design & Implementation

Conduct thorough health and humanitarian analyses.

Assess medical needs and design appropriate activities with project team and country coordination.

Programme Monitoring & Evaluation

Monitor the evolution of the context and adjust activities accordingly.

Ensure efficient deployment of resources and lead information collection for reports.

Team Leadership & Supervision

Lead, supervise, and support the team.

Foster clear understanding of project objectives and priorities.

Team Safety & Security Management

Conduct security analysis and risk management.

Build and maintain networks of relationships around the project.

Assess risks and threats linked to project activities.

Representation & Negotiation

Represent ALIMA with local authorities and stakeholders.

Negotiate humanitarian access and protect operational space.

PSEA Compliance

Ensure staff, partners, and community members are aware of ALIMA’s PSEA policy.

Provide access to reporting mechanisms and focal points.

Funding

Establish and secure funding for

2026 and 2027.

Experience & Skills

Experiences / Training

Minimum 5 years’ experience in versatile humanitarian positions.

Strong networking and lobbying skills.

Experience in tense security environments.

Team and project management experience essential.

Knowledge of humanitarian operations and technical fields.

Understanding of administrative and financial tasks.

Knowledge of EU, UN donor procedures.

Strong writing skills.

Qualities

Analytical and synthesis skills.

Ability to organise, adapt, and lead teams.

Diplomacy and negotiation skills.

Calmness, patience, and professional maturity.

Languages

Fluency in oral and written English essential.

French is an asset.
