Airtel Regional Manager, Agency & Merchants (North-West) - Smartcash PSB Jobs in Nigeria;To drive merchant acquisition and business growth by identifying, engaging and onboarding new merchants for payment processing services, while executing market penetration strategies, building strong relationships, negotiating contract terms and delivering revenue and market share objectives within the merchant segment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve revenue targets within assigned state/area.

  • Analyze merchant performance metrics to optimize acquisition strategies.

  • Negotiate contract terms and pricing with merchants.

  • Identify opportunities to expand merchant base.

  • Develop and manage budgets for acquisition initiatives.

  • Manage recharge sales strategy and execution.

  • Track partnerships and circulate progress updates.

  • Drive achievement of new merchant targets.

  • Collaborate with sales, marketing and product teams on merchant promotions.

  • Build and maintain merchant relationships, guiding them through sales process.

  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

    Channel Branding & Visibility

  • Ensure outlet branding in line with “Picture of Success (PICOS)”.

  • Identify visibility opportunities for Smartcash brand.

  • Manage POS materials stock to avoid wastage.

  • Train field sales team on POS deployment.

    Distribution Infrastructure

  • Develop and execute merchant acquisition strategy aligned with company goals.

  • Identify and target merchant segments via research and data analysis.

  • Execute merchant agreements ensuring mutual benefit.

    Industry Awareness & Competition Intelligence

  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices.

  • Conduct market research to identify new opportunities.

  • Report competitive activities and escalate unusual threats.

    Qualifications

    Educational

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Marketing, Business Management, Engineering or Computer Science.

  • Master’s in Business Administration or Management
    (advantage).

  • Project management qualification (advantage).

    Experience & Skills

  • Minimum 8 years’ commercial/business management experience.

  • Team leadership experience.

  • 3 years’ relevant experience in product management/fintech.

  • Computer literacy.

  • Sales knowledge.

  • Product/service development and management.

  • Strong interpersonal and customer orientation skills.

  • Financial services, banking, PSB and fintech experience (advantage).

    Other Requirements

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

  • Experience in data analysis and strategy development for revenue growth.

  • Deep understanding of industry and company products/services.
