Agricultural Finance Corporation Legal Assistant Jobs in Kenya;Entry‑level role for degree holders with a Postgraduate Diploma in Law. Officers at this level work under the guidance of the Manager Legal Services and Senior Legal Officer, providing legal services, advice, and support to the Corporation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise the Corporation on legal matters arising in operations.

  • Represent the Corporation in court, tribunals, and dispute resolution forums.

  • Prepare, review, and file pleadings and legal documents.

  • Liaise with external advocates to ensure effective communication and case management.

  • Draft and vet contracts, agreements, leases, charges, securities, and other instruments.

  • Review loan and security documentation for compliance and completeness.

  • Coordinate preparation, execution, registration, and renewal of securities.

  • Support conveyancing transactions including property searches, registrations, transfers, and leases.

  • Conduct legal research and prepare opinions, briefs, and reports.

  • Maintain comprehensive legal records including litigation files, contract registers, and diaries.

  • Coordinate issuance of professional undertakings and monitor compliance.

  • Provide support in negotiations, mediation, arbitration, and ADR processes.

  • Review and recommend payment of legal invoices and fees.

  • Perform other duties assigned to support effective legal operations.

    Person Specification

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL.B) from a recognized university.

  • Postgraduate Diploma in Law from Kenya School of
    Law or equivalent.

  • Admission as Advocate of the High Court of Kenya.

  • Valid Practising Certificate.

  • Membership in the Law Society of Kenya.

  • 2–3 years’ post‑admission experience.

  • Proficiency in computer applications.

  • Fulfil requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.
