AGL- Africa Global Logistics Shipping Clerk Jobs in Kenya




Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate shipping documentation to support efficient container operations.

  • Prepare, verify, and maintain transport documents (DOs, CIRs, EIRs, waybills, manifests, gate passes, PODs).

  • Manage container interchange activities, ensuring timely collection, delivery, and return in compliance with requirements.

  • Monitor container and shipment movements, maintaining accurate records and minimizing detention/demurrage costs.

  • Verify container condition during collection and return, documenting and escalating damages or discrepancies.

  • Coordinate vehicle dispatches and monitor deliveries for timely cargo/container movement.

  • Liaise with shipping lines, depots, drivers, and internal teams to facilitate seamless operations.

  • Receive, verify, and reconcile PODs and interchange documents to support invoicing and reporting.

  • Investigate and resolve shipment/documentation discrepancies with stakeholders.

  • Prepare routine transport and shipment reports, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Transport Operations Controller or Fleet & Admin Manager.

    Key Skills & Knowledge

  • Freight forwarding and transport operations.

  • Container interchange procedures and documentation.

  • Shipping and transport documentation requirements.

  • Road transport operations and fleet coordination.

  • Basic customs and import/export procedures.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

    Experience

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in transport, logistics, shipping, or freight forwarding operations.

  • Experience managing shipping documentation and container interchange processes highly desirable.

  • Experience using TMS or other logistics management systems an added advantage.
