Agency for Technical Cooperation and Development Senior Researcher- Acute Needs Analysis Jobs in Kenya;The Senior Researcher will review and synthesize evidence, apply IMPACT’s analytical frameworks, identify gaps and produce clear, actionable analysis to support humanitarian prioritization and decision‑making.

The role works closely with assessment, data, GIS and design colleagues to ensure findings are robust, clearly communicated and translated into high‑quality external products. The Senior Researcher will also engage with humanitarian stakeholders including clusters, UN agencies, NGOs and donors to strengthen uptake of the analysis.

Key Responsibilities

Development of Analytical Product – ANA

Lead implementation and delivery of ANA at country level.

Align rollout with global schedules and REACH standards.

Build stakeholder mapping and networks for contextual monitoring.

Ensure user‑centered products and support joint analysis.

Data Review & Consolidation

Collect and synthesize secondary data from REACH, UN agencies, INGOs and public datasets.

Evaluate data reliability and identify gaps.

Support decisions on targeted primary data collection.

Analytical Process & Interpretation

Apply REACH guidance for structured, consistent analysis.

Use frameworks (e.g., Risk of Excess Mortality) to identify areas at risk.

Document assumptions, limitations and reasoning.

Output Production & Dissemination

Draft ANA briefs using standardized templates.

Collaborate with GIS/design colleagues for maps and caseload tables.

Ensure internal review and validation before dissemination.

Present findings to clusters, working groups and donors.

Learning, Innovation & Quality Assurance

Participate in lessons‑learned reviews

and propose improvements.

Contribute to organisational learning and new analytical workstreams.

Support internal knowledge sharing and training.

Stay updated on sectoral best practices.

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience in humanitarian analysis, assessments, M&E or research design with in‑country experience.

Master’s degree or equivalent in International Development, Humanitarian Response, Data Science, Political Science or related field.

Technical Skills

Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

Proven writing skills for concise external briefs.

Proficiency in Excel; experience with PowerBI, SPSS, R, STATA or Python.

Understanding of GIS processes an asset.

Familiarity with qualitative and quantitative research methods.

Knowledge of humanitarian coordination systems (HPC, inter‑agency needs analysis).

Communication & Organisational Skills

Ability to manage complex workflows under tight deadlines.

Experience engaging with external stakeholders (clusters, donors, UN agencies).

Fluency in English required; Arabic competency an asset.

Comfortable in cross‑cultural, fast‑paced environments.

Sound judgment, emotional intelligence and interpersonal awareness.

Previous completion of HEAT training is an asset.
