Aga Khan University Hospital Unit Service Cordinator, Adult A&E Jobs in Kenya


Key Responsibilities

  • Update daily census on the computer system and ensure accurate bed allocation and billing class for patients in the unit.

  • Manage unit admissions, transfers, and discharges, and communicate these movements to the Nurse Manager.

  • Ensure accurate filing of patient records such as insurance forms, diagnostic, and clinical reports as per hospital policy.

  • Ensure availability of required stationery in the unit and nursing stations.

  • Manage unit stocks and ensure prompt billing of consumables, drugs, and professional fees after procedures.

  • Assist the Nurse Manager with distribution and collection of Satisfaction Survey Questionnaires and be familiar with the Complaint Handling System.

  • Maintain open communication of available beds for admission with patient services staff and duty managers.

  • Maintain physician fee‑for‑service book and ensure physicians have signed after ward rounds/procedures.

  • Respond to enquiries by visitors and staff and provide appropriate directions.

  • Alert Nurse Manager about dissatisfied clients, incidences, and unusual occurrences.

  • Ensure patient records are sent to the Medical Records Department upon discharge.

  • Collaborate with Consulting Clinic staff to make follow‑up appointments for discharged patients.

  • Handle incoming calls and direct them to appropriate persons.

  • Work closely with the unit’s security officer to control visitors.

    Requirements

  • Minimum O‑Level Certificate.

  • Certificate/experience in Front Office Management.

  • Heart Saver certification is an added advantage.

  • Knowledge in computer operations.
