Aga Khan University Hospital Unit Service Coordinator Jobs in Kenya


Responsibilities

  • Update daily census on computer system and ensure accurate bed allocation and billing class.

  • Manage unit admissions, transfers and discharges, and communicate movements to Nurse Manager.

  • Ensure accurate filing of patient records (insurance forms, diagnostic and clinical reports).

  • Ensure availability of required stationery in unit and nursing stations.

  • Manage unit stocks and prompt billing of consumables, drugs and professional fees.

  • Assist Nurse Manager with distribution and collection of Satisfaction Survey Questionnaires.

  • Maintain open communication of available beds with patient services staff and duty managers.

  • Maintain physician fee‑for‑service book and ensure physicians sign after ward rounds/procedures.

  • Handle incoming calls and route to appropriate persons.

  • Collaborate with patient services to schedule follow‑up appointments.

  • Communicate with patients about appointment changes and consult physicians before rescheduling.

  • Respond to enquiries by visitors and provide directions.

  • Ensure patient records are sent to Medical Records Department.

  • Collaborate with Consulting Clinic staff for discharged patient follow‑ups.

  • Work closely with security officer to control visitors.

  • Participate in unit‑based quality improvement projects.

  • Perform any other duty as assigned by Nurse Manager.

    Requirements

  • Minimum O‑Level Certificate.

  • Certificate/Diploma in Computer Operations.

  • Certificate/experience in Front Office Management.

  • Heart Saver certification an added advantage.

  • Minimum 2 years’ front office experience in busy organization.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work within multidisciplinary team.

  • Respect for colleagues, patients and families.
