Aga Khan University Hospital Research Assistant - Sonographer Jobs in Kenya; To perform obstetric ultrasound procedures, collect clinical and non‑clinical data, and support research activities in adherence to protocols, confidentiality, and ethical practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform obstetric ultrasound procedures for research participants.

  • Collect clinical and non‑clinical data for study participants.

  • Conduct study activities in line with guidelines and ethical standards.

  • Attend training sessions and obtain competency in data collection and informed consent.

  • Contribute to screening and recruitment of study participants.

  • Handle and store study equipment, performing basic maintenance.

  • Manage supplies related to ultrasound provision to ensure continuity.

  • Perform any other duties assigned by the study PI or designate.

    Requirements

  • Diploma in Medical Imaging Sciences or Diagnostic Radiography plus Higher Diploma in Sonography.

  • Registration with the Kenya Radiation Protection Board and valid license.

  • Clinically qualified applicants with demonstrable competence in obstetric ultrasound may be considered.

  • Basic computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

    Relevant Experience

  • Competence in obstetric ultrasound services including pregnancy dating.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Kiswahili.

  • Minimum 1 year clinical experience in obstetric ultrasound at a busy health facility.

  • Experience working in public healthcare facilities.

  • Experience in research activities at referral or primary healthcare level.
