Aga Khan University Hospital Regional Purchase Assistant - PSCMD Procurement Jobs in Kenya;Provide quality healthcare to patients and continuously evaluate and improve care to meet treatment goals. Support ICU/HDU operations under supervision of the Critical Care Consultant, ensuring patient safety, clinical excellence, and adherence to institutional standards.

Duties & Responsibilities

Patient Access & Management

  • Assess and manage patients in ICU & HDU.

  • Participate in daily multidisciplinary rounds per rota.

  • Provide clinical instruction and appraisal of junior staff.

  • Perform/supervise critical care procedures within competence.

  • Assess patients, order and interpret diagnostics, develop care plans, and update families/providers.

    Consultation Outside Critical Care Units

  • Assist in initial assessment and triage of potential critical care patients.

  • Provide management and triage advice to non‑critical care providers.

  • Participate in policy and procedure development for patient care.

  • Enable integration of patient care activities with clinical teams.

    Resource Utilization & Quality Improvement

  • Work with clinical teams to reduce errors and waste.

  • Participate in departmental research, academic activities, and quality improvement.

  • Provide clinical instruction to medical students, interns, and residents.

  • Present in weekly Morbidity & Mortality meetings.

  • Seek opportunities for continuous professional development.

  • Seek feedback from Critical Care Consultants on performance.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by
    Critical Care Medical Director.

    Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB).

  • Registration with Kenya Medical Practitioners & Dentists Board.

  • Valid Advanced Life Support (ACLS or higher) certificate.

  • Certificate in Advanced Trauma Life Support.

  • Successful internship completion plus minimum 1 year post‑internship experience.

  • Competency with hospital equipment.
