Aga Khan University Hospital Laboratory Technologist, Clinical Chemistry Jobs in Kenya



Aga Khan University Hospital Laboratory Technologist, Clinical Chemistry Jobs in Kenya;Reporting to the Section Head Chemistry, the Laboratory Technologist will ensure provision of effective, efficient and quality laboratory analytical services in the Laboratory.

Responsibilities

  • Receive specimens for general and specialized chemistry assays.

  • Maintain appropriate internal QC on chemistry/special chemistry analyzers.

  • Manage routine and preventive maintenance of equipment.

  • Analyze tests efficiently to produce valid results with optimal reagent use.

  • Communicate urgent critical results promptly and document appropriately.

  • Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.

  • Engage in continuous medical education.

  • Comply with Health and Safety regulations, maintaining hygiene and cleanliness.

  • Prepare/package outsourced samples at appropriate temperatures.

  • Develop and implement SOPs in general and special chemistry.

    Requirements

  • Higher Diploma in Clinical Chemistry or BSc in Medical Laboratory Sciences.

  • Registration with Kenya Medical Laboratory Technician and Technologists Board (mandatory).

  • Minimum 3 years’ working experience.

  • Demonstrable computer literacy.

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

  • Positive attitude, ability to work under pressure, integrity and confidentiality.

  • Professional attitude, strong work ethic and timeliness.
