Aga Khan University Hospital Full Time Faculty, Paediatric Nephrologist, Department of Paediatrics & Child Health Jobs in Kenya


Responsibilities

  • Review and examine patients through case histories, physical examinations, and ordering diagnostic studies.

  • Conduct daily ward rounds, monitor patient progress, participate in clinics, and provide third‑on‑call services for Children’s Ward, Newborn Unit, and Paediatric Casualty.

  • Perform privileged and potentially life‑saving emergency medical procedures when necessary.

  • Participate in planning parameters for referral cases received at AKUH.

  • Educate patients on wellness, prevention, and early detection of disease risk factors.

  • Initiate timely discussions with consultants/departments to determine optimal treatment plans for specialized cases.

  • Teach and supervise residents, Senior House Officers, and other clinical staff; contribute to syllabus development and review for assigned teaching modules.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate clinical research activities, institutional quality improvement, and patient wellness initiatives.

    Requirements

  • Master of Medicine (MMed) in Paediatrics.

  • Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) or equivalent qualification.

  • Certified and verifiable training in Paediatric Nephrology from a recognized university.

  • Valid certification in Emergency Paediatric Life Support (EPALS).

  • Registration with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.

  • Proficiency in handling hospital equipment.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • High standards of honesty, integrity, compassion, respect for diversity, and adherence to ethical principles.
