Aga Khan University Hospital Electrical Technician - Engineering Jobs in Kenya


Responsibilities – Regular Duties

  • Provide technical support for electrical systems and equipment throughout the hospital, including scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.

  • Document all electrical activities and test results according to department policy.

  • Respond promptly to Breakdown Maintenance (BDM) requests from user departments.

  • Complete Preventive Maintenance (PPM) for electrical systems/equipment in a timely manner.

  • Liaise with user departments for maintenance activities and report issues to supervisor.

    Responsibilities – Periodic Duties

  • Coordinate or participate in special projects such as new systems/equipment acquisition, purchase planning, and bid specification development.

  • Develop Preventive Maintenance schedules and guidelines with the electrical supervisor.

  • Provide safety and device-specific in-service education to technicians and equipment users.

  • Perform incident investigations and system/equipment performance analysis.

  • Develop or review emergency and safety plans related to electrical systems/equipment.

    Requirements

  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Power Option) or equivalent qualification.

  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar position.

  • Computer knowledge is an added advantage.

  • Competence in technical operation and maintenance of HV/LV distribution, switchgear and controls, diesel generators, steam boilers, laundry, and kitchen equipment.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, high integrity, reliability, strong analytical and organizational skills.

  • Ability to overcome performance barriers.

  • Willingness to learn and teach.
