Job Summary
Play a crucial role in the conduct of clinical trials and research studies, ensuring participant safety, compliance, and integrity of research data.
Responsibilities
Identify and recruit eligible participants for Phase ≥1 clinical trials.
Screen participants based on inclusion and exclusion criteria.
Explain trial details and obtain informed consent in compliance with GCP.
Administer investigational drugs or interventions per study protocol.
Monitor participants for adverse reactions and side effects.
Conduct regular vital sign assessments and document abnormalities.
Perform physical assessments and clinical evaluations.
Report adverse events promptly to investigators and regulatory authorities.
Collaborate with investigators, coordinators, and team members for smooth trial conduct.
Provide updates on participant status and study progress.
Ensure adherence to study protocol and regulatory requirements.
Document study activities accurately per GCP guidelines.
Collect and process blood samples for analysis.
Educate participants on trial purpose, investigational products, and side effects.
Be prepared to respond to medical emergencies.
Maintain detailed records of participant interactions and procedures.
Assist in preparing for regulatory inspections.
Follow safety guidelines to protect participants and staff.
Perform other assignments as appropriate.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing OR Diploma in Nursing with at least 5 years’ research experience.
Current licensure with the Nursing Council of Kenya.
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
CITI/Research training preferred.
Relevant Experience
Minimum 3 years’ nursing experience in hospital inpatient/outpatient services.
Sound knowledge of GCP, clinical trial processes, patient care, biomaterials handling, and safety practices.
Experience operating medical equipment (infusion pump, ECG machine).

Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
Ability to multitask across multiple studies and clinics.
Proactive and able to work with minimal supervision.
Flexible to work in varied roles.
Proficient in MS Office.
Empathetic, culturally sensitive, respectful, and supportive of patients and colleagues.
