Aga Khan University Hospital Clinical Nurse -Outreach Clinic - Juja Jobs in Kenya


Key Responsibilities

  • Complete head‑to‑toe patient assessments and re‑assessments to identify care needs.

  • Develop written care plans, monitor interventions and evaluate effectiveness.

  • Perform hemodynamic monitoring including vital signs, neurological and fluid status, labs and radiology.

  • Document assessments, investigations, care provided, team discussions and patient/family interactions accurately.

  • Administer medication safely, monitor responses and report adverse reactions promptly.

  • Dispose of clinical and non‑clinical waste per hospital guidelines.

  • Prepare for and assist physicians during procedures.

  • Maintain airway management including oxygen therapy, nebulization and suctioning.

  • Conduct pain assessments and initiate analgesia per protocol.

  • Report unusual clinical or non‑clinical findings to Clinic In‑Charge, Clinical Quality Manager or Operations Manager.

  • Identify patient/family education needs and provide appropriate teaching.

  • Ensure patient safety through infection control practices and equipment checks.

  • Accurately bill clinic stock drugs and consumables.

  • Care for equipment through cleaning, storage, inventory checks and reporting faults.

  • Follow outpatient discharge procedures and ensure follow‑up appointments.

  • Participate in nursing education, QI projects, audits and skill checks.

    Requirements

  • Registered Nurse from a recognized nursing school or university.

  • Current licensure with Nursing Council of Kenya.

  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).

  • Minimum 3 years’ continuous clinical experience in medical‑surgical nursing.

  • Evidence‑based knowledge of outpatient nursing practices.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
