Key Responsibilities

Facilities Planning & Maintenance

Establish a facilities management plan coordinating ongoing maintenance, operations, and safety.

Develop detailed maintenance schedules and procedures for all building systems (HVAC, electrical, structural).

Implement a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to streamline activities.

Operations & Upkeep

Establish procedures for cleaning, catering, waste management, and daily upkeep.

Recommend capital improvements and provide cost‑benefit analyses.

Assist in developing long‑term capital improvement plans.

Safety & Compliance

Identify potential safety hazards and compliance issues, offering practical solutions.

Establish emergency and security protocols in line with local regulations.

Ensure compliance with building codes and standards.

Energy & Space Optimization

Propose strategies to optimize energy efficiency and sustainability.

Recommend ways to optimize space usage, allocation, and planning.

Ensure efficient utilization of space.

Reporting & Stakeholder Engagement

Regularly report on building operations progress and present findings to administration.

Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.

Team Leadership & Technical Support

Provide technical expertise, supervision, and mentorship to the facilities team.

Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies.

Collaborate with Purchasing and Supply Department on vendor/contractor management (sourcing, contracting, performance, risk mitigation).

Requirements for Appointment

Recognized qualification in Engineering from an accredited institution.

Professional certification or training in Project Management

an added advantage.

5–10 years of related professional experience, including supervisory/managerial roles.

Valid Professional Engineer (PE) license.

Certification in building management systems highly desirable.

Strong understanding of building systems and infrastructure (mechanical, plumbing, BMS/BAS, electrical).

Proven ability to identify and analyze facility maintenance needs.

Experience in developing and implementing Facilities Management plans (preventative maintenance, capital improvement, energy efficiency).

Expertise in life cycle costing and budgeting for facilities management.
