The Medical College offers Master of Medicine (M Med) degrees in Anaesthesia, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Pathology, Radiology, and Surgery.

Currently the University offers fellowship programmes in the following specialties:

Cardiology, Infectious Diseases, Oncology, Nuclear Medicine, Neurology, Neonatology and Paediatric Neurology.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Chair, Department of Medicine, the incumbent will undertake clinical, educational and research functions under supervision.

The incumbent will admit, consult and undertake diagnosis and treatment of patients admitted under the Nephrology section.
S/he will be allowed to order tests and radiology and consult with sub-specialists when necessary to ensure quality, professional and ethical patient care.

Requirements

  • Applicants must have a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B. Ch.B) or equivalent with an MMed or its equivalent in Internal Medicine and Nephrology

  • S/he must have at least one year post training experience and be registered by KMPD as a specialist in Nephrology

  • Should have demonstrable competency and dexterity with all equipment utilized in the hospital environment

  • Ability to seek and accept advice and adhere to deadlines

  • Should demonstrate honesty, integrity, compassion and respect for diversity and apply ethical principles appropriately

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
