Applications are invited from qualified candidates for the position of Human Resource Manager, Aga Khan University Hospital Nairobi

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Regional Director, HR the incumbent will offer seamless support towards the provision of HR functions in the hospital

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the strategic business partner for AKUHN so as to understand all necessary business aspects and needs and to ensure that they are fully informed of HR objectives, purposes and achievements
  • Oversee the implementation of HR policies
    Participate in the Manpower planning process i.e. work with different departments during the budgeting process to determine staffing needs and assist in the preparation of their staffing and recruitment plans accordingly.
  • Manage the recruitment and selection process using the standard recruiting and hiring practices and procedures necessary to recruit and hire a competent and skillful workforce;
  • Manage the development and administration of programs, procedures, and guidelines to help align the workforce with the strategic goals of the Organization;
  • Participate in establishing the departmental result areas that support the accomplishment of the Organization’s strategic
    goals;
  • Recommend employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and motivation;
  • Conduct employee disciplinary process;
  • Participate in Collective Bargaining negotiations and implementation;
  • Oversee the benefits administration of employee benefits
  • Conduct training needs analysis and coordinate with service providers and develop and manage in-house training programs
  • Participate in the hospital-wide strategic HR Planning process
  • Coach and mentor staff in the HR Department
    Any other duties that maybe assigned from time to time

    Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in the relevant field
    Post graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management
  • 5 – 10 years’ generalist experience in HR
    Knowledge of labor laws
  • Proficient in all MS office packages with excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills
