Aga Khan Foundation Media Consultant for Schools 2030 Incubation Inclusive Innovations Jobs in Uganda;The consultant will work closely with the AKF Schools2030 Uganda team and Communications Lead to document teacher‑led inclusive innovations in Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) schools.

Objectives

  • Capture high‑quality photographs demonstrating Schools2030 innovations in practice

  • Produce short, engaging videos documenting teachers’ innovation journeys and classroom practices

  • Capture authentic teacher and learner experiences respectfully and inclusively

  • Generate visual content for reports, presentations, exhibitions, social media, websites, and publications

  • Highlight contributions of teachers and learners to improving teaching and learning

  • Build a visual library of Schools2030 innovations from participating schools in Uganda

    Key Responsibilities

    Pre‑Production

  • Participate in briefing with AKF Schools2030 team

  • Review background information and develop photography/videography plan

  • Agree on teachers, classrooms, innovations, and activities to capture

  • Develop interview questions and story prompts

  • Ensure consent and safeguarding procedures are followed

    Photography

  • Capture high‑quality images of teachers incubating innovations, facilitating learner‑centred lessons, and learners engaging with inclusive practices

  • Include wide/contextual shots, medium shots, close‑ups, portraits, action shots, and teacher‑learner interactions

    Videography

  • Produce up to 8 short videos (3–5 minutes each) telling clear stories of selected innovations

  • Include teacher reflections, learner engagement, emerging changes, and future plans

  • Ensure professional
    editing, clear audio, subtitles, and compliance with AKF standards

    Deliverables

  • Curated collection of high‑resolution, professionally edited photographs

  • Short edited videos featuring selected teachers and innovations

  • Selected raw/high‑resolution footage and photographs as agreed

  • Organized archive of submitted files

    Duration

    September – October 2026

    Timeline

  • Day 1: Consultant briefing and orientation

  • Days 2–17: Field photography and filming

  • Day 22: Submission of draft products

  • Day 27: Final submission after AKF review

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Journalism, or related field

  • Special qualification in Photography and Videography (mandatory)

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in photography/videography of education or related projects

  • Strong portfolio of documentaries, education, development, or human‑interest photography/video

  • Experience documenting schools, teachers, children, or community programmes (advantageous)

  • Ability to tell compelling human‑interest stories through visual media

  • Knowledge of safeguarding principles and ethical photography involving children

  • Strong video editing and post‑production skills

  • Access to professional photography and video equipment

    Logistics & Payment

  • Consultant will work independently, using own equipment and covering field travel costs

  • Payment: 40% upon signing contract, 60% upon completion and approval of deliverables
